Alki Reflections

Puget Sound is the inland waterway which is connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Starit of Juan de Fuca. Seattle, Washington is located on Elliott Bay which is a part of Puget Sound. Alki Point forms the southern boundry of Elliot Bay and Alki Beach, one of the most popular sandy beaches in the Seattle area, extends about two miles from Alki Point to the Duamish Head. It is a very popular area for walking, jogging, roller blading and bicycle riding.
This is a collection of Puget Sound photographs taken along Puget Sound and Alki Beach in Seattle. There are sunset photos across Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains in the background. Otters, Sea Lions, Bald Eagles both in flight and on Alki Beach, Blue Herron, Osprey both in flight and catching fish are all available for viewing. Puget Sound also is home to many other waterfowl which include Cormorants,Seagulls and beautiful Barrow's Goldeneye which spend the winter here. All of these animals and birds are generally very close to shore which afford excellent opportunities for close up wildlife photographs.
Puget Sound also provides many opportunities for pictures of freighters, tugboats, cruise ships , car ferrys and Navy ships.
For those who enjoy whales, there are Humback Whales taken while in Kona, Hawaii. and if you like cats, included are photographs of our Ragdoll cat Miss Molly.
